Malaysia top 10 Malay Entrepreneur!

Malays has a 70% population in Malaysia.  There are certainly many entrepreneur among the 70% population.

And below is the list of 10 of the most successful among many of their counterparts.

The list below is non bias and not in any specific order.

 

1.  Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar al-Bukhary.

A humble man, never really cared for the spot light.  Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar al-Bukhary, is the richest Malay entrepreneur with a wealth amount of a staggering USD 2.75 Billion.
Tan sri Syed Mokhtar came from a poor family, with limited facilities and luxuries. But that did not stop him from achieving his dreams. After much up’s and down’s, today Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar is affiliated with MMC (Utility, engineering, infrastructure and logistics), DRB-HICOM (automotive manufacturing, assembly and distribution), Tradewinds (plantation, agro based and property sectors), Puncak Semangat (Telecommunications-4G) and many more respected companies. It is said he owns about 4000 business!.

 

2. Dato Maznah Hamid.

Dato Maznah Hamid, once took a big risk alongside with her husband to buy over a security company. The couples were eager to change their ordinary life and that is what gave them the courage to take this risk. They had to sell their house for a bigger modal to sustain the company. Apart from that, she has to hold many post, such as manager, clerk, accountant and so on. With much perseverance, she survive and now her security company is known to many, which isSecuriforce.
She has then venture into multiple successful business.

 

3. Tan Sri Azman Hashim.

An unfortunate car accident also rob him of his life, but Tan Sri Azman hold on and never gave up living which eventually lead him to much great success if life. With the right attitude and a good accounting back ground, Tan Sri Azman was able to climb his way to the top. Now he is the Executive Chairman of Amcorp Group Berhad and chairman of several subsidiaries of the Ambank Group and also Amcorp Properties. He is now the 17th richest man in Malaysia.

 

4. Tan Sri Dato Mustapha Kamal.

Tan Sri Dato Mustapha Kamal is the co-founder of MK Land. It is a well known property company in Malaysia. He has his very own building in Damansara Perdana. MK land is also one of the major developers in Cyberjaya. He was an actor before becoming a business person.

 

5, Datuk Mokhzani Mahathir.

He is the second son of our fourth prime minister, Tun Dr.Mahathis Mohamad. He did not follow his father’s political footstep, but decide to create his own career path. He became the Chairman and Group CEO of Pantai Holdings Berhad till 2001. He now sits on the Board of Opcom Holdings Berhad, Sime Darby Auto Performance Sdn Bhd. He is also the chairman of Sepang Internation Circuit Sdn Bhd.

 

6 & 7. Datuk Shahril & Shariman Shamsuddin.

The Shamsuddin brothers took over their father, Shamsuddin Kadir company, Sapura Group. Elder brother is Chief Executive, president of SapuraKencana and younger brother sits on board.

 

8. Datuk Wan Mohammad Sani Salleh.

He is a self made millionaire. He runs a bus company under the name of Sani United Sdn Bhd. At a young age of 35, he has receive multiple awards. He is a humble man and often grateful of his good fortune.

 

9. Tan Sri S.M Nasimuddin S.M. Amin.

He is the founder, chairman and CEO of Naza Group. Naza Group has 14 business divisions which includes motor trading, bikes, manufacturing, transport services, machine tools/parts, engineering, plantation, cigarette distribution, credit & leasing, water crafts, properties, hotel operation and insurance agency. Upon his passing, the businesses are now led by his sons, Datuk Wira SM faisal and SM Nasarudin.

 

10. Dato Kamarudin Meranun.

He runs AirAsia with Tony Fernandes and owns 11% of AirAsia. Kamarudin is now the 20th richest man in Malaysia.

 

I repeat again, The list  is non bias and not in any specific order. There are no doubt many more successful Malay entrepreneurs. Here are ten of them. Just to let you guys know.
