Robbers Failed to Break Open ATMs in Ipoh
IPOH: Two robbers failed to break into several ATMs at a bank in Persiaran Greenhill.
The incident happened around 3.30am when the two robbers used oxy-acetylene torch to cut open the machines
Their moves was unsuccessful. There were some burnt marks on an automated teller machine (ATM) and the pair of closed-circuit televisions (CCTVs) on a cash deposit machine was sprayed with paint.
Anuar Othman, Ipoh Deputy OCPD (I) Superintendent said that a bank employee lodged a report around 8.30am after finding the machines vandalised.
The suspects operation of trying to blow torch the ATM only lasted for about 10 minutes before they gave up.
“The suspects did not leave behind any tools or equipments, and we believed they have left in a car,” he told reporters when met at the scene.
“The case was being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code,” he said.
