Husband chops off wife’s fingers to stop her from studying for a degree
Bangladesh: A 21 year old women got her fingers chopped off because she was doing a degree.
The husband, Rafiqul Islam, 30, blinded folded his wife Hawa Akhter, 21, and told her that he was going to give her a surprise present.
However it was not a surprise present that was intended by the husband, instead he hold her hands out and cut off all five fingers.
The husband now is facing a life in prison after his act of chopping his wife’s fingers off.
The reason for so was because his wife was studying for a degree without his permission.
The 30 year old migrant worker in the United Arab Emirates, said that he was jealous and enraged that his wife was doing a degree.
He only has a grade eight standard education while his wife is doing a degree.
Despite the incident, the wife, Hawa Akhter said that she will still continue her studies.
She said to the press that right now she is currently learning how to write with her left hand and is determined to finish her studies
She is now staying with her parents
The Bangladesh police chief, Mohammad Saluddin said that the husband has confessed for what he has done and was arrested. He will be facing chargers of permanent disfiguration
