All Malaysians are required to pass their English in SPM from 2016 onwards
This is one of the best decision the Ministry of Education have made and this will definitely bring a change in the society.
According to our Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, English is a must pass subject and to ensure this to happen, more time will be allocated for the subject in all schools. This on the other side means that schools time period are to be extended by 1 to 2 hours more.
The finalized version of the National Education Blueprint 2013-2025 have been launched and the main aim is to produce students with good attributes for example, thinking skills and bilingual proficiency. To monitor this progress, Muhyiddin said that the Education Ministry will present the annual report under a special entity called “PADU” (Performance and Delivery Unit) to ensure the target is achieved.
However, the exact time frame and implementation date is not mentioned by him as for now. Stay tuned for more.
